EPISTEMUS: Science, Technology, and Health, it is an electronic scientific and outreach journal of the University of Sonora that has the purpose of the national and international dissemination of authors' production, being these results or achievements relevant to basic, applied or documentary research of topics related to the areas of Engineering, Natural Sciences and Biological and Health Sciences, which is also a means of disseminating derived products from academic activities, reviews, essays and short communications on science, technology and health, having the understanding that any manuscript submitted must be original and unpublished. It is hoped that the accepted manuscripts for publication can influence decision-making, provide alternatives and facilitate work for new researchers. Contributions from other areas of knowledge are also welcome, though.

In this journal, the manuscripts' mastery as well as the format guidelines are reviewed in general terms, and the ithenticate tool is used as a plagiarism/similarity verifier. The manuscripts will then be submitted to a peer evaluation process by a scientific Board and at least 2 anonymous reviewers in a double-blind process, this means that the authors do not know the reviewers and vice versa. When the reviewers’ reports are obtained and manuscripts require corrections they are sent back to the author for modifications until reported as ACCEPTED for publishing, it can be REJECTED at any time for not meeting the established criteria. There is a minimum period of 16 weeks to complete the process.

The EPISTEMUS Journal: Science, Technology, and Health believes that education, science and technology are considered fundamental pillars on which the development of a country is based; for this reason, it is a non – profit magazine for all authors/readers that consider important to strengthen the link between those who generate knowledge and those who benefit from it: society, promoting a greater exchange of global knowledge. It is published in a digital format, and it is funded with public resources, it also follows an open access policy. It is allowed to download the full content of the journal in digital (PDF) or XML format for free.
