Responsibilities and Functions
The EPISTEMUS journal, has a Publishing Team, whose general function is to take care of the quality of the journal.
Editorial Team: It is made up of national academics, specialists in disciplines of the Exact and Natural Sciences, Engineering and Biological and Health Sciences. The responsibilities of the Publishing Team are: to accredit the quality of the articles and the editorial processes and to support the quality of the journal. They are named for their thematic affinity to the Epistemus’ areas, for the solvency of their curriculum and for their academic career. They are often asked for opinions and their opinion is of the utmost importance to periodically define the fate of the journal.
The Executive editor: Maintains the identity of the journal and monitors that all processes are met to carry out each issue; makes decisions, with the help of the Publishing Team, on the theme, number and content of the journal; It proposes who of the members of the Publishing Team should review each article, for a first reading and for decision-making, if applicable, to pass it to opinion; carries out administrative procedures and is responsible for giving monitoring and periodicity to the journal; together with the journal editor, it verifies that the articles follow the scientific structure and editorial standards; promotes the formation of networks, dissemination events and links with other scientific journals; promotes the permanent training of members of the publishing team in congresses and workshops for the improvement of editorial processes; assumes institutional communication and public relationships; monitors the inclusion and permanence of the journal in the quality indexes.
The Editor: Is the person responsible for establishing direct contact with the authors and with the reviewers; issues the evidence of acceptance, publication and opinion of the articles arbitrated; follows up the entire process followed by the articles and records it in the corresponding blogs.
The Associated Editor: Responsible for the style review of articles: Spelling, grammar and intelligibility of the text; supports the journal management in the tasks of linking, promoting networks and activities for the dissemination of the journal and the open access to scientific information; contributes to the dissemination of new technologies and open access to scientific information among students, researchers, and members of the publishing team; and promotes the training of students and researchers in the writing of scientific articles and publication strategies.
The Style Editor: Performs the functions of training, diagramming and editorial design. Is in charge of all interior and lining pre-press issues, also of sending the files of the most recent issues to the databases and indexing networks where the journal is on the internet and to the technical administration and updating of the digital journal.
The Technical Editor: is responsible for updating and meeting the technological requirements derived from the digital publication of the journal.
