Instructions for authors
- Register on the EPISTEMUS portal, if you haven’t already.
- Complete your profile (Contact tab, Tasks tab, Public tab)
- Prepare your document according to the journal’s policies
- Select the section of interest
- Download the templates
- Select only the template for the section to which you plan to submit your work:
- Originality Letter Template (Signed by hand)
- Have you checked on our Epistemus Database to complement your research?
- Prepare/adapt your article to this format and fill out the originality letter.
- Verify that your document complies with the new submission checklist.
- Make a new submission
- Right section of the EPISTEMUS portal, “Submit an Article” button.
- Once the submission is made, the manuscript will be evaluated. Manuscripts that do not comply with the publication standards and format will not be considered suitable for the review process and will be returned to the authors.
- If the manuscript is ACCEPTED, the editorial process will begin, with a minimum duration of 18 weeks. It may be REJECTED at any time, either by external reviewers or due to lack of communication with the author (e.g., delays of more than four weeks in responding to editor or reviewer comments, or disagreement with them).
- The first response from the Epistemus Editorial Team will be within 1 week. If your work enters the editorial process, you will receive a second response, including feedback from external peer reviewers, within a minimum of 8 weeks.
Register / Submit a New Submission
- Register your submission
- Home section
- Specify the language of the article
- Specify the section where you will upload your article
- Check the submission checklist, ensuring all requirements are met
- Add comments to the Executive editor (Optional)
- Submit as AUTHOR
- Accept the Copyright Statements
- Upload Submission Section
- Select “Article in Epistemus Template” to upload your article, then click continue.
- Add Other Files:
- Select “Originality Letter” to upload your signed originality letter
- Select “Figures and Tables” to upload these; you may attach a ZIP file with all items if you prefer not to upload them one by one
- Select “Dataset” to upload your data (Optional)
- Select “Multimedia” to upload a video explaining your article (Optional)
- Enter Metadata Section
- Add the title (Maximum 12 words)
- Add the abstract (Maximum 150 words)
- Add all collaborators
- Check the option "send an email to authorize the ORCID" for each collaborator (if the link fails, go to your Epistemus profile and register it manually)
- Add the language of the article (Spanish or English)
- Add the disciplines – locate them using this link (Scientific Disciplines)
- Add keywords (Maximum 5)
- Add the references (Copy and paste them)
- Ensure the references follow the correct format
- At least 50% of the references must be from the last 5 years
- Save and continue
- Confirmation Section
- Make the submission
- Home section
