Walkability refers to the ability of the built environment to encourage walking. It is a key aspect that can be promoted through urban planning and design that motivates pedestrians. The objective of this perception study is to identify the most important attributes for pedestrians and their influence on the decision to walk. The main variables were selected according to the literature and were evaluated through a conducted survey. The results were analyzed using the IBMSPSS26 software. The findings revealed that safety was the most valued category, considered the most important by more than half of the respondents. These results highlight the importance of addressing safety as a key factor in promoting walkability in urban environments.
